Being in Sonmarg, one can

the Switzerland. It has one of the best skiing destinations
in Kashmir which cant be found else where in its beauty comparison.
The hill station is quite popular among tourists from all
around the world. Sonmarg is actually as small town that is
located in foot of a snow covered mountain. |
The meaning of the word Sonmarg is Meadow of Gold
and it is true to its name. It is located at a height of 2.7 Km
above the sea level. You can also find great fields of flowers which
are like a colorful blurry dream. It is famous for the unique varieties
of flowers found here. The picturesque mountain forms the backdrop
of this mountain which is a favored tourist destination. The mountain
is coved with alpine trees on all sides. You can visit the town
throughout the year, but in the winter, the town is covered with
white snow. It has the religious destination Amarnath here that
sees visitors in a large number from all parts of the world once
a year in August. To add to the beauty of this place, it has numerous
blue water lakes which give a chance for numerous water activities.
This is the last town in the beautiful state of Kashmir. In one
crosses this town, he will head out to Ladak where on can find the
beautiful place LeH. Skiing is best during the season of winter
which lasts from September to January. The snow is at full bloom.
You can also opt for helicopter skiing here. The mountain is fairly
safe with no boulders in the way of skiers. If you are not coming
here for skiing, then you better come in seasons other than winter.
The flowers are full bloom in august and the town is covered with
a blanket of greenery.
