Kashmir is a beautiful place that very few people are able to visit because of the problems that are present in the nation. This is a state in India and a part of the land exists as a state in Pakistan too. The dispute is that some people in the state would like to become part of Pakistan and there are many other people who would like to become a part of India. There are some people who would like to live as an independent nation. This problem has been going on from the time of Independence.

In spite of the problems, there are two places in Kashmir that are frequented by tourists and they are the places Leh and Ladakh. These are two most beautiful towns in the state. One can see many snow capped mountains in the area. There were also many lakes that were present here, but these days, the Himalayan range does not have enough of rainfall because the monsoon does not reach here. Instead of being filled by rain water, the lakes are filled with only water from the melting snow.

The nature and the sceneries that one sees in these places are amazing. Trekkers from all parts of the world who like to climb the lofty mountains, visit Kashmir. There are also many animals that are present in the area and people who are interested in nature watch would feel at home in Kashmir.

The towns of Leh and Ladakh are places where there are a few Buddhist monasteries too. This is because of the fact that they were frequented by travelers from Tibet and many people are descendents of people from Tibet. So, the place is culturally rich too, with many different cultures mingled in one. This has given the place a unique identity and culture of its own.
